Hey, just thought I would let the listeners know that there’s a UC local market Monday’s in October 10AM – 3PM on the green between TUC and McMicken. Its kind of a continuation of the Farmer’s Market that was here in spring, but we are trying to pull in more local prepared food vendors (since thats good for the student market thats less likely to be cooking and needing fresh produce), so look for an espresso cart that uses locally roasted and ethically sourced la Terza coffee, Cider and apples, gelato, baked goods, and more. We are also hoping to pull in some Vegan food vendors, but haven’t got them confirmed yet, but we think it would be a good thing to have some vegetarian options on campus as well.

The first settlers of Cincinnati were Americans of English/Scottish descent. many were revolutionary war soldiers paid in land in lieu of cash. The bulk of Germans arrived after a failed revolution in Germany in the mid 1800s. In 1840 the largest ethnic group of people receiving public aid were non English speaking german immigrants – that is, they were one of the biggest burdens on Cincinnati residents.
