One Comment
Regarding Peter’s comments on Issue 1 – he was saying that bonds are a poor way to finance bonuses for veterans. I actually agree with him – however, it’s actually been the standard procedure in Ohio, according to this article:
http://www.allbusiness.com/government/elections-politics-campaigns-elections/12954621-1.html
“This is not the first time voters have been asked to approve bond issues in support of our veterans. In 1921, Ohio voters approved a constitutional amendment benefiting returning World War I veterans. Since then, voters have approved bond issues to support veterans of World War II, Korea and most recently, Vietnam.”
I kind of feel like I shouldn’t comment on it, since I’m typing this from Iraq right now – feels like a conflict of interest to say anything – but I did want to bring the further details to your attention.
Thanks for the fantastic show – I listen every week, and it really makes me feel closer to home!
