wow – good show
It’s BS the way the city keeps screwing White Castle. Any idea if they are giving the restaurant any kind of relocation deal? In the morning a LOT of people zip in there for coffee & breakfast.
Any word on bike stuff for Central Parkway at the MLK intersection ?
Usually restaurants aren’t given any kind of relocation deal, they are simply kicked out using eminent domain and paid the “market value” of their property. Sometimes they relocate nearby, but not always. For example, when several fast food restaurants were demolished on Calhoun, only Arby’s relocated nearby. Wendy’s moved to an on-campus location, which has since closed, but the rest just left.
You can take a look at the renderings for the Hopple Street alternatives being considered. They show which buildings might be taken. The city didn’t like option A because it eliminates the direct connection between I-75 and Central Parkway. The renderings don’t show any bike lanes at this point.
