I started out responding to “The Beacon Challenge,” a series of “10” questions asked of me by Mr. Haap.  At about the 22:30 mark in the show, we begin to discuss the Glencoe/Inwood Village project, featuring an interview with Mr. Mark Miller from COAST. I discuss the new Chase Elementary School in Northside, Mayor Mallory’s trip to Washington to meet with Obama, and a few other stories as well.

Edit (2/21/09): At about 19:25 in the program, I accidentally said “Between 2000 and 2005, Ohio lost 100,000 people between the ages of 20 and 24.”  I meant to say “…between the ages of 20 and 44.”  Sorry for this mistake.

Season 1, Episode 2 Preview

We have a lot to discuss on tomorrow’s show.  A few of this week’s topics are:

  • The Cincinnati Neighborhood Summit
  • News on the Brent Spence Bridge and a new I-71 study
  • Lots of business news, including the closures of Western Bowl and Circuit City, new airlines at CVG, the soft drink shift at Great American Ball Park, and layoffs at Clear Channel
  • More discussion of Obama and his infrastructure plans
  • The new leader at ODOT and Ohio’s first “infrastructure czar”
  • And great news for one of Cincinnati’s best local bands!

I will be all alone in the studio this week, but I’ll be joined by Randy Simes via satellite phone.  I hope that a few people listening will share their thoughts and opinions by sending an AOL Instant Message to screenname DJ Bearcast during the live show.
